-2. Children Of The Nations
Movement vs. Organization: Children of the Nations sees itself as a “movement of people” gathered by God to provide quality care to children under His guidance. He has created a worldwide body of people with a common passion who deny themselves to care for children. Children of the Nations is not a “missionary sending” agency but utilizes individuals from around the globe, tapping into their talents in a professional manner, which strategically assists in accomplishing the goals of the overall mission.
Today, Children of the Nations is working in the USA, Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda and most recently in Haiti and Liberia to provide relief for orphaned and destitute children. Children of the Nations, through funding primarily from child sponsorship, and individual donations, operates homes, schools, farms, skill centers, clinics and village feeding centers in an effort to give quality care to our children.
Children of the Nations believes in creating a “home” atmosphere for the children in their care, with loving and secure national and international relationships. It is important to create and maintain an environment that fosters love, respect, sharing, serving, participation, and fellowship. In order to raise healthy, well-rounded children they believe that the whole child must be cared for. Children of the Nations emphasizes holistic care, addressing physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth in all of our children. They seek to create an environment that meets the child’s basic needs, encourages their individual desires and passions, and promotes excellence in achievement.
Cultures are influenced—good or bad—through seven primary areas: Family, Education, Business/Economics, Faith, Government/Politics/Justice, Environment, and Media/Arts/Entertainment. At Children of the Nations, they understand that it only takes 3 to 5 percent of a population base to create change within a culture. By capturing the hearts of children and creating strategic learning environments, they seek to create opportunities for our children to create “tipping points” in their nations, and even continents, causing the faces of nations to change.
Just $1 feeds four children for a day, but as we all know and can tell Children of the Nations has a lot more responsibilities than feeding the children they support. One PIF shirt purchase can make a big difference on the lives that encompass Children of the Nations.
